Prof. Maria Warren aims to prepare creative and service-minded engineers who will excel in the next step in their career.
She has a background in the experimental mechanics of impulsively loaded structures and computational modeling of porous materials. Her experience connecting projects across industry and the research laboratory has spurred her focus on experiential learning.
She is interested in:
- Developing impactful lessons with active learning principles
- Integrating theoretical, computational, and experimental work to achieve student mastery of course content
- Creating a just and equitable learning environment with evidence-based techniques
